Fault Analysis on Diesel Engine Failure to Start (3)

Engine overheating is a common fault. It will cause the engine power to decrease and the economy to decline. In severe cases, it will also damage the parts. Therefore, such faults should be eliminated in time. The editor of Shaoxing Automobile Network will introduce you to the "four-step method" to eliminate the fault of excessive engine temperature.

1.look

If the temperature is too high or the temperature indicator light keeps flashing, stop the car to check whether the cooling water in the water tank is normal and whether there is leakage in the water tank, water pipe and joints. If no abnormality is found through the appearance inspection, you can replenish the cooling water according to the regulations and continue driving. If the temperature is still found to be too high after driving a distance, and the cooling water is found to be reduced a lot after stopping the car for inspection, this is mostly because the water jacket of the cylinder body has sand holes or perforations and is lost. After discovering this fault, it should be repaired and should not be taken lightly.

2. touch

When the engine temperature is too high, you can touch the temperature of the upper water pipe and the lower water pipe to determine the fault. If the temperature difference between the two water pipes is very large, it can be judged that the thermostat is not working. If you cannot buy spare parts on the way, you can remove the thermostat for emergency and replace it immediately after returning to the unit.

3. releases

If there is air in the cooling system, it will form air blockage, which will cause poor cooling water circulation and cause the engine temperature to be too high. The following method can be used to release air: let the engine run at high speed, gently unscrew the water tank cap until gas is just released, at this time, some cooling water will flow out with the gas, and repeat this many times until you feel that the gas is released. After the fault is eliminated, the cooling water should be replenished in time.

4. flushing

If the vehicle is driven on a dirt road or muddy road for a long time, some dirt will adhere to the radiator. Over time, it will affect the heat dissipation effect and cause the water temperature to be too high. You can first blow the radiator grille with compressed air, and then flush it with a water pipe.
