1. Replacement of fuel
The freezing point of diesel fuel used in general situations should be 3-5℃ lower than the lowest temperature of the season to ensure that it will not be affected by freezing at the lowest temperature. Generally speaking:
5# diesel fuel is suitable for use when the temperature is above 8℃;
0# diesel fuel is suitable for use when the temperature is between 8℃ and 4℃;
-10# diesel fuel is suitable for use when the temperature is between 4℃ and -5℃;
-20# diesel fuel is suitable for use when the temperature is between -5℃ and -14℃;
-35# diesel fuel is suitable for use when the temperature is between -14℃ and -29℃;
-50# diesel fuel is suitable for use when the temperature is between -29℃ and -44℃ or lower.
2. Choose the appropriate antifreeze
Replace the antifreeze regularly and prevent leakage when adding. Antifreeze comes in red, green and blue colors. It is easy to detect leakage. Once found, wipe the leak and check the leak to choose an antifreeze with a suitable freezing point. Generally speaking, the freezing point of the selected antifreeze should be 10℃ lower than the local minimum temperature. Leave a little surplus to prevent sudden temperature drops at certain times.
3. Choose low viscosity oil
When the temperature drops sharply, the viscosity of the engine oil will increase, which may have a great impact on cold start, making it difficult to start and the engine to rotate. Therefore, when choosing engine oil for diesel generator sets in winter, it is recommended to replace it with an oil with a lower viscosity.
4. Replace the air filter
Since the requirements for air filters and diesel filters are particularly high in cold weather, if they are not replaced in time, the wear of the engine will increase and the service life of the diesel generator set will be affected. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the air filter frequently to reduce the chance of impurities entering the cylinder and extend the service life and safety of the diesel generator set.
5. Drain cooling water in time
In winter, special attention should be paid to temperature changes. If the temperature is below 4 degrees, the cooling water in the diesel engine cooling water tank should be drained in time, otherwise the cooling water will expand during the solidification process, causing the cooling water tank to crack and be damaged.
6. Increase body temperature
When a diesel generator set is started in winter, the temperature of the air sucked into the cylinder is low, and it is difficult for the piston to reach the natural temperature of the diesel after compressing the gas. Therefore, appropriate auxiliary methods should be used before starting to increase the temperature of the diesel generator set body.
7. Preheat in advance and start slowly
After starting in winter, the diesel generator set should run at low speed for 3-5 minutes to increase the temperature of the whole machine and check the working condition of the lubricating oil. It can be put into normal operation only after the inspection is normal. During the operation of the diesel generator set, try to avoid suddenly increasing the speed or stepping on the accelerator to the maximum, otherwise it will affect the service life of the valve components over time.
