Excessive engine noise
fault cause | Solution |
Belt squealing due to insufficient tension or excessive load | Check and adjust belt tension and verify that all pulleys turn freely. |
Air leakage between turbocharger and cylinder head | Tighten the clamp between the turbocharger and the cylinder head, and repair the leak at the connection between the turbocharger and the cylinder head. |
Exhaust pipe leakage | Refer to the black smoke exhaust fault analysis symptom tree. |
Turbocharger does not rotate freely | Replace the turbocharger. |
The backlash of the gear train is not adjusted correctly | Adjust the backlash in the gear train. |
Damaged or missing idler bushing | Replace the idler bushing. |
The fuel injector is defective or clogged | Replace defective or clogged injectors. |
Improper adjustment of the overhead mechanism | Measure and adjust the overhead mechanism settings. |
Damage to overhead mechanism components | Check the rocker arms, rocker shafts and valves for severe damage. |
Injection pump incorrectly adjusted | Adjust or replace the fuel injection pump. |
Wear of piston ring or cylinder causes compression pressure to drop | Replace worn piston rings or cylinders. |
Excessive engine vibration
fault cause | Solution |
The engine mounting bolts are loose or the engine mounting shock absorber pads are damaged | Replace engine mounting bolts or shock pads. |
Bad connection between engine and main oil pump | Check and adjust. |
Incorrect backlash adjustment of the gear train | Adjust the gear train backlash. |
Damage to overhead mechanism components | Check whether the rocker arm, rocker arm shaft and valve are seriously damaged, and replace the rocker arm, rocker arm shaft and valve if necessary. |
Camshaft sleeve wear | Replace the camshaft sleeve. |
Injection pump incorrectly adjusted | Adjust or replace the fuel injection pump. |
Fuel injector malfunction | Correct or replace. |
The main bearing or connecting rod is worn or damaged | Replace the connecting rod or main bearing. |
