The impact of improper matching of piston kit and cylinder liner

Mar. 21, 2025

1. The upper stop step between the cylinder block and the cylinder liner: unevenness or collapse after wear will cause the support shoulder of the newly installed cylinder liner to break

2. Excessive wear of the matching area between the cylinder bore and the cylinder liner outer circle may cause the newly installed cylinder liner to swing too much in the cylinder body, causing oil burning, early wear of the new cylinder liner, cracking of the cylinder liner or fracture of the support shoulder.

3. Crankshaft bending, journal wear, roundness, and ovality deviations can cause the engine to malfunction, abnormal wear of pistons, piston rings, cylinder liners, and other parts, and oil burning.

4. The rust, dirt and other impurities in the cylinder body are not removed, which affects the heat dissipation effect, resulting in poor lubrication and abnormal wear of the piston, piston ring, cylinder liner and other parts, and burning of engine oil.

5. Before assembly, if the piston, piston ring, cylinder liner, piston pin, connecting rod, bearing shell and other parts are not cleaned and rust-proofed, too many impurities will enter the cylinder liner, causing early wear of the piston, piston ring, cylinder liner and other parts, burning of engine oil, etc.

6. If the sealing ring on the cylinder block is not clean, smooth or flat, and there are impurities in the sealing groove of the cylinder liner, it will cause poor sealing, resulting in coolant leakage, affecting the oil quality, causing poor lubrication and abnormal wear of the piston, piston ring, cylinder liner and other parts, and burning oil.

7. During the assembly process, if the sealing rubber ring is cut, deformed, twisted, or moved, it will cause poor sealing, coolant leakage, affect the oil quality, and cause poor lubrication and abnormal wear of the piston, piston ring, cylinder liner and other parts, burning oil.

8. If the fuel injector is not adjusted properly, it will cause the engine to flash over or incompletely burn, which will cause the lubrication conditions of the piston, piston ring, cylinder liner to deteriorate, early wear, burning of engine oil, and even high-temperature melting and cylinder scuffing such as piston ablation.
